animal, which every good behaviorist should do.
Secondly, animal behavior problems are generally not limited
to just the animal his/herself. As in any relationship, there are dynamics, and
it is up to the human to help change it. We are there to help you change the
relationship, and the resulting behaviors.
A.
Through your dog's cat's or horse's, pig's
etc. eyes, you are not only mom and dad, you are also a giant. They do
not see you as smaller than them, even horses and cows. Hitting them simply
scares them, and the more afraid they are, the less likely they are to learn.
B. They
smell things much more keenly than human's do, so scents of anger or scents they
associate with fear, upset them.
C. They
hear better than humans, even sounds above and below human hearing range.
Yelling hurts their ears and scares them, and environmental sounds can frighten
them, or make it difficult to learn.
